Free Course for Carers

The Alzheimer’s Society is to run a five-week part-time course specifically for Carers, starting on Monday 2 February.

The free course is mainly for Carers from the Stockton, Billingham, Eaglescliffe, Yarm and Ingelby Barwick areas however the course is open to carers from Middlesbrough, Redcar and East Cleveland and Darlington if spaces are available.

It is suitable for those who are either caring for a person with a recent diagnosis of Alzheimer’s, or if the person with dementia is living reasonably well with the diagnosis.

Each weekly session is for two-and-a-half hours, taking place each Monday from 10.00am until 12.30pm. They will be held at the Live Well Hub at the rear of the Halcyon Centre, Thornfield Road, Thornaby TS17 8AP.

The course will be run for a minimum of eight Carers and a maximum of 12 and delivered by Claire Blackwell-Jones, the Alzheimer’s Society Dementia Support Worker for the Tees Valley. Refreshments will also be available.
