Let's Unite for Dementia Awareness Week

Dementia Awareness Week takes place from 14-19th May and is a national campaign which aims to raise awareness of dementia and support people living with the condition.

Throughout the week there will be information stands in Stockton Borough 

Dementia Awareness Week will be launched in Stockton-on-Tees with a walk around the Tees Barrage, meeting at the Tees Barrage Café to start at 10.30am Sunday 14th May. The 1.5 mile walk will be fully wheelchair friendly, and people of all ages are welcome to join in to celebrate the launch.

Tombola and Information Stand 10am-3pm @ North Tees Hospital Find us in North Tees Hospital for information on dementia and to have a go on our fundraising tombola.

Young at Heart 2-3:30pm @ LiveWell Hub, Thornaby Young At Heart is a friendship group for people with dementia and their carers to attend together. For more info call 07590 535448.

Busking at Wellington Square 1pm @ Wellington Square Come and see Stockton Synthonia Male Voice Choir performing a busking session at Wellington Square to help raise awareness of dementia.

Dementia Advisory Group Meeting 10am-12noon The Dementia Advisory Group will be meeting for a coffee morning, but will also be making the final judging decisions for the Dementia Awareness Week Poetry Competition. The Poetry Competition is open to all ages, and is separated into three categories:  5-11 yrs  12-18 yrs  18+ yrs Every entry is entered into a competition to win an electronic tablet supplied by Tesco, and the winners of each category will win prize.
