About Cleveland Housing Advice Centre

Cleveland Housing Advice Centre provides an independent, free, confidential advice service to everyone.

CHAC's service is provided by a team of highly trained advisors and ensures that individuals do not suffer through lack of knowledge of their rights and the services available to them.

We provide advice on welfare benefits which includes benefit checks, form filling and challenging benefit decisions up to and including specialist advice and representation at appeal tribunals. We also provide advice or signposting for other statutory rights, debt and housing issues. We negotiate and liaise for clients with landlords, social and private and Local Authorities covering a wide range of issues, including homelessness, disrepair, rent arrears and illegal eviction.
