About Housing Options
Housing Options services work through partnership arrangements with housing associations, private landlords and other agencies in the voluntary, private and public sectors, in homelessness prevention.
If you are worried about becoming homeless - or you are already homeless, please get in touch with the Housing Options team as soon as possible.
Housing Options can:
• Assess your entitlement to housing if you are homeless or threatened with homelessness
• Provide housing for those in priority need
• Assist with temporary accommodation whilst enquiries about eligibility are being made
• Help those who are homeless or threatened with homelessness to access privately rented accommodation through provision of a Bond Guarantee Scheme
• Stockton Council's Housing Options team will provide the landlord with a guarantee in the form of a written agreement instead of a cash bond.
• Provide Housing Advice including information tenants about harassment from landlords and illegal eviction
