What service is offered?
They provide supported housing for individuals with substance misuse, and supported housing for homeless families. During their tenancy staff supports individuals to gain the life skills required to be able to live independently and to address their substance misuse issues. They also provide a ‘crash pad’ accommodation available for homeless individuals on a short term basis.
Who can access this service?
To access the service, you must be:
For 155 Norton Road the individual needs to be over 18 years old, with a substance misuse issue and in treatment for this, also in need of secure housing and reside in Stockton on Tees, and to have completed six consecutive negative drug screens. For 157 Norton Road the criteria is to be a family in need of temporary supported accommodation whilst being assessed by Housing Options.
For a referral to the ‘crash pad’ the individual would need to be referred by either Housing Options or Stockton Borough Council’s Youth and Leaving Care Service team, who would provide a risk assessment for the individual.

Individuals can drop into the service at 155 Norton Road to discuss housing with staff or they can contact the service to make an appointment to discuss their housing situation and any other support they require. In addition, agencies can refer the individuals or families into the service.
